Storm Sweep - May 2021
WHAT IS STORM SWEEP?
Pontchartrain Conservancy is hosting Storm Sweep as a month designated to clean up the Lake Pontchartrain Basin this May and to promote education about storm preparedness. Hurricane season is on the way, and we intend to be prepared! Together we'll remove trash and debris so that our catch basins can adequately route storm water out of our neighborhoods and our waterways can be litter-free!
WHAT CAN I DO?
Keep Abita Beautiful is registered and hosting a Storm Sweep event Saturday, May 8,2021. They will be working along the Abita River and other smaller streams and waterways. KAB will have a couple of flat boats - If you're interested in working on one of the boats, please let KAB know ahead of time.

CAN I DO MORE?
YES! Click the link below to register for a cleanup. Once you register, Pontchartrain Conservancy will email you the locations and dates of their cleanups happening around the Pontchartrain Basin! You can choose the cleanup location that best fits your schedule or participate in multiple cleanups. You can also sign up as an individual or family and pick your own location to clean up in May.
